The Designer

Philippa Galasso is a Sydney-based couture house, established by Philippa Galasso in 2012.

 

Graduating with an Advanced Diploma in 2007, Philippa studied for 3 years at Sydney's Fashion Design Studio in Ultimo - a well-known and highly respected Fashion Design Studio. Of Italian descent, her grandfather was a tailor, her mother a teacher of textile technology, Philippa found it fitting to pursue a career in Fashion.

 

While living and working in Paris Philippa set up the launch of her evening couture brand receiving great critical acclaim for her commissioned garments for red carpet events in the Australian and French entertainment industries where she showcased her collection first 'Couture 1' Collection at the 'Festival de Cannes' in 2012 and appearing in ELLE magazine Paris.

 

On return to Sydney Philippa took her label to New York where she debuted her Spring/Summer 2014 'Couture 2' Collection at New York Fashion Week in September 2013, Philippa has since shown at NYFW for 3 consective seasons.

 

She has been the designer for many A-list celebrity red carpets such as the Oscars, American Music Awards and TV Week Logies, and many television appearances. Philippa Galasso's gowns have been worn by Delta Goodrem, Sophie Monk, Emma Booth, Dami Im to name a few. 

 

Philippa's gowns are highly detailed and textured using high quality traditional hand beading and embroidery techniques in a modern way. This work is done by only the best specialised artisans locally and from around the world.
